PAYETTE RIVER SCENIC BYWAY TO WILDLIFE CANYON SCENIC BYWAY, IDAHO

PAYETTE LAKE IN McCALL
We had travelled the Payette river byway in 2011 but again our memory had failed us when driving the beautiful Wildlife Canyon scenic byway we both suddenly said – we've been here before! We are getting worse!
Good to see a genuine cowboy who rode up to me and asked if the stock was still on the road, we'd just seen 3 cows running into a field!
We also saw one of the Fire Camps they set up as a base for everyone involved in fighting the wildfires – interesting and pleased to see that the fire risk gauge now says low, its been extreme for most of our travels.

This time in the Wildlife Canyon we camped at Pine Flats campground, only three others camping, we hiked down to find the natural hot springs which we had not seen before. Worthwhile as they were quite extensive, spilling down the rocks with many hot pools.
