BODEGO BAY AND GOAT ROCK GOONIES

                                            BODEGO HEAD TRAIL

Spent a superb day here, drove to Bodega Head and hiked the headland trail then drove along the stunning coast road to Goat Rock Beach and I finally got to see the place where “The Goonies” last scene was filmed, where the pirate ship sails out from the rocks. We missed this area last time so thanks Terry for information so we wouldn't miss it. Took lots of photos, wandered along the beach listening to Roy saying “well I can't see a pirate ship”. Walked along to Russian River where the harbor seals go to pup, there were still some there and we had fun watching the young seals braving the strong currents. A fabulous day, sun still shining and 20oC with a cool wind.

Also, we found out, thanks to our great film buff friends Terry/Sally this is where the set of “The Birds” was filmed, and as it happens Tippi Hedren who starred in the film is due to be here in person on the 5th September, we wont wait to see her!
