CAPE LOOKOUT AND CAPE MEARES

Our last day at the Oregon coast, we hiked the 5 mile round trip to Cape Lookout then drove to pretty Oceanside to get wifi then to our last lighthouse – Cape Meares. The french hand ground Fresnel lens at Cape Meares is one of only two eight sided lights in the United States, the other is in Hawaii.
The sun shone all day and we made some lovely memories for this wonderful state.

One of the visitor guides talks about the Seven Wonders of Oregon – Mount Hood, The Oregon coast 363 miles of sandy unspoilt beaches, wild surf and rocks, Crater Lake, Painted Hills, Smith Rock, The Wallowas and the Columbia River Gorge – we are blessed to have had the privilege of seeing every one. Oregon is one awesome state.
