Today we had the most awe
inspiring, magical experience! We drove 40 miles from our campsite at
San Ignacio to Laguna San Ignacio, went out on a panga (boat) and for
an hour + were surrounded by Grey Whales and their calves. So
friendly, they came up to the panga and stayed with us for ages, spy
hopping, fins in the air, butting the boat,so close we could smell
their breath and then best of all coming right up to the edge of the
boat and letting us touch them time after time. So privileged and
amazed at the beauty and gentility of these huge wonderful creatures.
And so very pleased we had Jamie and Corinna with us – Jamie took
some awesome photos!
I thought we had a magical experience when we were surrounded by dolphins off Blyth, but whales wow!! Mal x
