LAST DAY IN THE GRAND TETONS NATIONAL PARK, WYOMING

The free campsite was superb, the weather was warm in the day with clear blue skies, stunning night skies with the Milky Way in her full glory.
Yet another mouse (7) but I don't want to think about them.
Our last ever trail in this magical area was to Holly Lake. 13 miles round trip and 2900 feet climb to a pretty lake, saw two Pika, usually so shy but one of them just sat and posed for me. The sun shone all day and it reached 22oC.

As Roy was making our evening cuppa, he heard the trap go again, number 8, he was out early and then while drinking my tea I saw a live one for the first time – a nose appeared at the bottom of the vent, I screamed and he went back. Thankfully this morning there was another one in the trap - 9.

THE LONG TRAIL BACK

We left the Tetons, and drove south in the sunshine through Wyoming, stopping at Pinedale to do what most people do on Sundays, shop, not exactly my idea of fun in Ace Hardware up the rodenticides aisle (only in America could they come up with a name like that!) looking for mouse traps! We will beat them!

  1. Not enough energy to make complete comments, but we remember and enjoyed Mormon Row, though you couldn't actually go in, but there were loads of squirrels all over the place.
