GOODBYE YELLOWSTONE – HELLO GRAND TETONS

As we left Mammoth campground the sun shone and skies were blue, we headed south driving all the way through Yellowstone to the Grand Tetons National Park. We even had the bison trying to stop us leaving!
I shed a few tears but then the magnificent Grand Teton mountains came into view, these are my favourite mountains.

JACKSON LAKE
We got a super site at Gros Ventre with views of the mountains and of course – Moose! We love this site but last year it closed early so we made sure we arrived for the last 4 days of opening. This campground is wonderful as you have moose wandering around the campsite.

Had a laugh with our neighbours, who are in a tent, she said did you have a visitor last night? They had heard a noise outside their tent like a grunting and snorting! I said it could have been a bear, they said had we heard the coyotes, no, we heard nothing but we did have a visitor.... another mouse!

Spent first day shopping in Jackson, wifi at Kelly coffee shop then drove about 30 miles on the Gros Ventre dirt road. Wonderful horse ranches, lakes and pretty scenery and I met a real deer hunter!
