POINT REYES NATIONAL SEASHORE

SLIGHT BIT OF WIND HERE! BUT WORTH THE BAD HAIR DAY!

POINT REYES LIGHTHOUSE

COMMON MURRES
What a wonderful area! Dramatic headlands, hammering surf and rip currents of the Pacific, fantastic wildflowers, a lighthouse, three Grey whales, Common Murres in their hundreds, two pairs of mating Peregrine Falcons, Elephants Seals, Brown and White Pelicans, Harbor Seals, many seabirds and sunshine together with gale force winds and all this sat atop the San Andreas Fault!
We thought we would not see any Grey whales as most have already moved north from the Baja but we were stood looking out from Point Reyes lighthouse and there below us was an adult Grey Whale and then a mother and baby and – yes – I am convinced it was the same pair I actually touched in the Baja – well that's my story and I'm sticking to it. Another fabulous day seeing nature at its best.
