CUTE REDWOOD TREE HOUSE ON CAMPSITE AT STAFFORD |
A beautiful, peaceful drive though, starting through stunning redwoods then up to 4077 feet and along the crest of the Shasta - Trinity National Forest with a glimpse of Mt Shasta in the far distance, at least we think that's what it was.

MOUNT SHASTA - WE THINK |
Up on the tops we smelled then saw the result of a wildfire, thankfully out. It was humbling to see in the small hamlets we passed through signs saying "Thank You Firefighters" - it must have been frightening to have it so close.

WILDFIRE REMAINS |
So looking forward to getting to Lassen National Park tomorrow for some hiking and rest time for Roy who is a star driving me safely on these death defying roads. (Not without prompts from Mrs Bucket to "mind the deer Richard")

Had a slight panic as we got to the campsite, Roy went in to register, came out and dear Dodge would not start! Turned it off went to the toilet came back and she started - phew! Computer error he said, thank goodness I said.
AND FINALLY - WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU HIT CAMP.........SWIM..........OR FIT DISC PADS? |
Red Bluff is a bit of a crossroads isn't it. We stayed there a couple of times, once on our way to Lassen, we also went to the rodeo they have at Red Bluff. It looks like you are on nice posh site - we stayed on the Dam reservation campground, called Sycamore Grove. Unusual as it is a US Forestry campground, with full electrics!T
