Before reaching this
tortuous road we stopped to have another look at the elephant seals
of San Simeon, last time we were here there were hundreds, this time
just a few were sunning on the beach.
WILLOW CREEK ALONG THE BIG SUR
This magnificent road is a joy to drive, stunning views of the Pacific, pretty coves around every twist and turn and today we spent a couple of hours mesmerized by the dozen or so humpback whales who were playing in a bay.
THIS IS THE BAY WHERE WE SAW ALL THE HUMPBACK WHALES
These are not the sharpest photos of whales but they do take some catching with the zoom I have, they don't pose for shots! It's times like this I wish I had a super duper camera.
We have now arrived at Half Moon Bay about 30 miles from San Francisco and if we thought last night's campground was expensive we had not figured tonights! $75 but we do have wifi at site. Again the State Park was full.
