GRAND OLE OPRY IN NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE

Outside Grand Ole Opry

Nashville - Music City - first stop Grand Ole Opry House. As we were only 2miles from the place Roy decided we would bike there. Well I always say I like to be different and we sure were - hundreds of vehicles and two bikes. Quicker though!
We spent the day doing the backstage tour of the Grand Ole Opry and it was fascinating! We finished our tour by standing on the stage and the tour group of about 15 sang "Happy Birthday" to me. FABULOUS!

Inside the Opry

The circle of fame

The back of the stage where the elite and family of stars sit

Fame  at last!

We had a look in the Opry Mills - just shops and a live singer then to the Gaylord Opryland Resort which was hotel, events area and a huge indoor garden complex with cascades, boats and beautiful flowers.
To end a perfect day, in the evening we returned to the Old Opry for the show - it was great, so very different as its a live radio show, like something out of the 50's with kitsch commercials in between the artists. Lots of artists!
We had a chuckle to ourselves as the show was just about to start - we had great seats on mezzanine front row, two end seats and no one at the side - till four rather large Americans arrived. We reckoned that there must have been about 100 stones between them! They got sat down while we came out to let them in - and there was no room for me on the end! I politely had to ask them to move up please! They sure were squashed!
A perfect day!
