We all enjoyed a fantastic day out to Smith Rock State Park, a short drive from Cove Palisades. Majestic rock spires rising above the Crooked River, a world famous rock climbing area - all created around 30 million years ago by volcanic activity.
Terry and Sally saw the highlights from the viewpoints and were lucky to see a golden eagle and two eaglets in a nest from a scope. Sadly we missed this as we were hiking the fabulous Misery Ridge trail, Mesa Verde trail and river trail making a three mile loop hike which was magnificent.
