YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK – MY MOST FAVOURITE PLACE!

Here we are, back for the very last time, we have visited this park about five times and it never fails to amaze us. There is everything here – mountains, rivers, waterfalls, canyons, hot springs, geysers, fumaroles, mud pots, hiking trails, black and grizzly bear, elk, moose, wolves, mule deer, pronghorn, bison, bighorn sheep, mountain goats – a true Garden of Eden!

We got a campsite at Mammoth Hot Springs which is always a bonus as its almost the only campsite open now and always full. Had a walk up the steep trail into Mammoth and was rewarded with our “own” bull elk who was also coming up the trail, he beat us to the top where there were the usual crowd of folk snapping his picture.

The skies cleared in the afternoon and made a beautiful evening for animal viewing, we drove a short distance down the Gardner River and were rewarded with a huge flock of Bighorn sheep, we have never seen so many all together. After much camera clicking we moved round the corner to hear an elk bugling and chasing the ladies – fabulous!
