SNOW TO 28oC IN A DAY AND INTO COLORADO

North to south through the middle of Nebraska, endless prairie and then Sand Hills, deserted roads, secluded ranches, cattle and crops. We saw three mule deer!
I cannot believe that yesterday we were dressed in several  layers and still cold - today shorts and sandals. And I am now back in my wonderful West! We moved into Mountain time (7 hours behind UK now) and Colorado. Heading south still to Albuquerque for the balloon fiesta hopefully on Thursday. We were going to call at Colorado Springs but have changed our minds.

McConaughy Lake - Nebraska's largest reservoir

a few of the invasion of Asian lady beetles

I forgot to tell you about our invasion by Asian Lady Beetles. It happened when we were in Itasca, hundreds of these multi coloured beetles similar to ladybirds landed on our trailer. We heard on the news that they swarm at this time of year, Roy spent that evening catching them inside the trailer and releasing them outside, the second night I was not so kind I did what the newsreader did - hovered them up then next day tipped them out, most were still alive. Next day when we left there were strong winds and we saw none. However since then we have been disposing of  them as they kept appearing in the trailer. They were looking for a place to overwinter so we were told - not in my trailer!
Today when the sun came out and it warmed up 6 days after we left Itasca, hundreds of these beetles appeared around and inside the trailer again - hoover time! We have 4 weeks to get rid of them.
Had a laugh last night, Roy changed the oil on something under the truck and there was a dog wandering around. As Roy laid under the truck, the dog came and laid at the side of him - he's just so loveable!

hitchhikers 6 days after we got invaded, still with us!
