COLORADO

Southwards, sunshine, 30oC and an endless 4000 ft. high plateau with our first glimpse of the beautiful Rocky Mountains - 70 miles away. Deserted roads except for 11 Pronghorn who took off when we stopped. These are long days as we travel down but go easily as we seem to be the only ones on the road.
We drove for about 15 miles through a wind farm, we don't think we have seen one as large with turbines as far as you could see. One lonely field of sunflowers brightened up the view, many still in flower unlike those we passed in Nebraska.

The Rockies and we are just passing Colorado Springs 70 miles away

  1. Some very evocative pics Anne. I assume that is Pikes Peak behind Colorado Springs.
