ANOTHER GRANDE RONDE RIVER ADVENTURE

We spent our last day at Lewiston off again on a search for the wiggles of the Grande Ronde River.
This time we took off up a side ravine road Cours road, from the Snake River and found a different kind of wiggles - single track rough road climbed steeply up to the high plateau called Montgomery Ridge Road.
We then drove to Fields Spring State Park where we thought there was a road down to the area of the wiggles of the Grande Ronde. Host man put us right and sent us back the way we came but off a side road called Schumaker Road.... well, I call it a road it was smaller, more windy and rough than the previous one but it took us all the way down to the river.
We drove 3 miles on the single track rough road to the right to a dead end and then 1 1/2 miles to the left where the wiggles were. Of course we did not see them but it certainly was worth all the effort as it was so peaceful, despite the fishermen, and totally remote.

Not taking the easy way back we took the other rough road, Weissenfels Ridge Road back down to the Snake River which was possibly the worst one of them all - but all exciting and a great adventure!
