WINNIE THE POOH FOUND IN WHITE RIVER, ONTARIO

Continuing our westward journey along Superior we came upon White River and was fascinated to discover that this small nondescript town was where Winnie the Pooh originated. I've put the photos on to explain - now everyone has heard of Winnie the Pooh but I bet not many know where he originated!

The scenery is beautiful with hundreds of lakes, reminds us of Scotland.

THE STORY OF WINNIE THE POOH!

Stopped in Pukaskwa National Park at Hattie Cove for a couple of days, hiked in the sun the first day, it still struggled to reach above 18oC but a glorious day. The last day was dismal but we had a lovely four hour walk, along the headland, the beaches and round Halfway Lake where we learnt the Seven Grandfather Teachings from Ojibway. We read elders' stories about love, honesty, respect, wisdom, truth, humility and bravery in local culture. Picked blueberries - wondered where the bears were!
