BEAUTIFUL BEND

MOUNTAIN VIEWS FROM BEND

Our journey continued north to Bend, Oregon. Terry and Sally drove behind us just in case the Dodge failed - thankfully it was a short journey and we arrived at the pretty Tumalo State Park.
Roy got the Dodge booked into a garage and we took it in on Tuesday, fingers crossed it will be ready by Friday.
It is great camping with Terry and Sally, we have never done this before but apart from the great help they have given us in sorting out the Dodge repair, ferrying us everywhere, sharing their wifi with us -  it is superb to have the companionship of friends.

PILOT BUTTE
While waiting for the truck repair, one of the places Terry took us to was Pilot Butte, an extinct volcano in Bend. It is a cinder cone butte which rises nearly 500 ft above the surrounding plains giving stunning views of several major Cascade peaks.

CASCADE MOUNTAINS FROM PILOT BUTTE

We had a f meal round the campsite table, Terry cooked delicious jumbo shrimps! As we finished eating Terry suddenly spotted a big cat like animal coming over the rocks - cameras out - wow its a bobcat - click, click, click - then its tail was spotted so we knew it wasn't a bobcat - and an American walked past and casually commented on us taking photos of a cat! Well it was a big cat! Could have been a cougar from a distance......
